Let’s Explore Science Curriculum
Curriculum project for school districts in Utah focused on science teaching materials for K-6th grades aligned with the Science Core Curriculum Objectives and Outcomes. This project involved developing an inexpensive, year-long curriculum for each grade level that is teacher friendly, includes content knowledge notes, and uses materials readily available to teachers. This project will be completed in August, 2008.
Elementary Science Enrichment and Teacher Development in Toledo Public Schools
Fourth and fifth grade students at Newbury will be immersed in inquiry-based science learning experiences in small group pull out sessions designed by CATALyST in an effort to supplement existing instruction in those areas. In addition CATALyST is providing building level support for a science fair in late spring 2008 and professional development in inquiry science strategies for teachers in grades 3-5 at Newbury.
Science Fair Support and Teacher Development at Oakdale Elementary
Similar to Newbury Elementary activities, CATALyST is supporting Oakdale Elementary through teacher professional development sessions focused on using problem based learning and on developing a science fair at their school in late spring 2008.
