Program Requirements for M.Ed. in EDAS
Development of Approved Plan of Study:
A formal plan of study signed by each student’s advisor and the Associate Dean of the College of Education must be on file for each EDAS student. As soon as possible after admittance to the EDAS program, and within the regular academic year (late August through early May) students should meet with their assigned faculty advisor to develop a formal plan of study. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the assigned advisor. The plan of study should be developed and on file before the student has completed 12 credit hours of coursework.
Minimum Grade Requirements:
Graduate students in the EDAS program are required to maintain: a) a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for all courses completed; and b) an average of 3.0 for EDAS courses completed.
A grade of less than C (2.0) in any graduate course is unsatisfactory and will not satisfy the academic requirements in a graduate program of study.
Continuous Enrollment:
Students must be continually enrolled in the program. Students who do not enroll in at least one course for an academic year will need to reapply for admission to The Graduate School.
Registration for Classes:
Students must register for all courses during the official university enrollment period in order to avoid late fees.
Eligibility for Financial Aid:
Students must be enrolled in six credit hours per semester, in order to be eligible for financial aid.
Exit Requirements:
Successful completion of the M.Ed. degree in EDAS requires:
1. Completion of 36 semester hours of graduate coursework within an approved plan of study (see attachment 1) that includes 12 credits of college core requirements, 21 credits from the EDAS core requirements, and 3 credits of a culminating experience (masters seminar, project, or thesis.)
2. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
3. Completion of the degree within a six year period.
