Susan Parks is a lecturer at The University of Toledo's Department of Curriculum and Instruction. She teaches undergraduate courses in early childhood literacy learning and literacy assessment and remediation for early childhood and middle grades teacher candidates. Her interests include developing university partnerships with area school districts, and providing hands-on learning for teacher candidates, linking university learning with practice. Susan received her Bachelor’s degree in Education and English from the State University of New York at Cortland. She earned her Master’s degree in Reading Education from Elmira College.
Susan served as a reading consultant and literacy coach for over twenty years. She has facilitated district-wide staff development training in differentiated literacy instruction and has conducted numerous workshops for educators and parents in comprehension, writing and guided reading.
