Project LEA
Project LEA: Leading Educators in Advancing Inclusive Early Education is a 5 year project (2013-2018) funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).
Project LEA will prepare approximately 34 early childhood special administrators and supervisors to serve as educational leaders in their districts. These "front line" individuals play an important role in providing high-quality services to young children on IEPs and their families and we're excited to be working with them.
Project LEA uses distance learning technology to offer part-time program of study that will allow four groups of students to earn an Education Specialist degree in 2 years.
Project LEA will pay ALL tuition for students enrolled in the project. Students will complete 9 courses along with an individualized project that will help them to implement and evaluate systems change efforts in their local preschool special needs program.
Highly-qualified teacher educators, Drs. Ed Cancio, Laurie Dinnebeil and Bill McInerney lead Project LEA and Dr. Lyn Hale manages the program.
This project is supported by grant #H325D130075 from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).
