Middle Childhood & Adolescent to Young Adult LAMP Resources
The Licensure and Master's Program (LAMP) in Middle Childhood and Adolescent
There are two cohort programs of licensure for Middle Childhood and Adolescent and Young Adult:
- One-year Accelerated LAMP
- Two-year LAMP
Both programs are designed for the student who already holds a baccalaureate degree in a major other than education and wants to become a licensed teacher in the State of Ohio. Both programs provide coursework that will lead toward the initial four year residence teacher license and a master’s in education.
If you are seeking licensure in a science or math concentration for Adolescent to Young Adult, you may be eligible to apply for the Woodrow Wilson Ohio Teaching Fellowship. For more information visit www.utoledo.edu/education/wilson

- Submit with the form all transcripts of higher education coursework taken at other institutions, including transcripts of coursework completed at UT prior to 1976
After the completed application and required documentation is received, your coursework will be evaluated. Please allow 2-3 weeks to complete the evaluation process. Once completed, you will then be notified in writing of the coursework you will need in order to be licensed and asked to set up an appointment with the advisor to discuss your options, if you intend to proceed. Please note that application to The College of Graduate Studies is a second required step, should you decide to pursue LAMP.
