Day of Research
CONCURRENT WITH SENIOR DESIGN EXPO
Senior Design Expo, a tradition in the College of Engineering for many decades, showcases our students' creativity and ingenuity to the public. On April 26, 2024, we combined the Expo with our new Day of Research activities to highlight student and faculty research activities in the college.
Senior Design & Research Expo took place from 12–3:00 p.m. on the first floor of Nitschke Hall, 1610 N. Westwood,
Toledo, OH 43606. More than 30 graduate students joined to event, sharing research
poster presentations with visitors. Visitors also joined student-led tours of college
research laboratories and the newly renovated classroom spaces in North engineering
Faculty Rapid-Fire Tech Talks rounded out the day with more than 20 research highlights presented by faculty from 3–4:00 p.m. followed by refreshments and networking. Several new programs and collaborative research opportunities were shared by Dr. Patricia Relue, Senior Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies. These included two college funding initiatives to advance college research focus areas and support team and idea building for collaborative proposal development.
The goals for the Day of Research were to break down silos, share best practices, celebrate successes, build collaborations between departments, and move college research forward. We plan to continue Day of Research every spring in conjunction with the Senior Design Expo.
