 Submit Project Evaluation Request

Project Management Office (PMO)

The Project Management Office (PMO) is a unit within IT whose role is to provide a centralized and coordinated hub for all IT projects and requests.

The PMO is responsible for developing and supporting processes for the intake, approval, prioritization of project requests and facilitating project management activities for projects that align with the University's mission and strategic goals.

A project is defined as a temporary endeavor that delivers a new or improved process, solution, product or service.  As an IT project, these deliverables include a technology component.

Requesting project work from IT is initiated by  Submitting a Project Evaluation Request.  The Project Evaluation Request is used to capture requests related to:

    • Data
    • Document Imaging
    • Electronic Forms & Workflows
    • Epic EMR Optimizations
    • Establishing a New Clinic/Facility
    • Exploring Software Applications/Systems Solutions
    • Implementing/Upgrading Equipment or Hardware
    • Process Automation and/or Improvement
    • Reporting & Dashboards
    • Or, other technology based solutions

Examples of requests that are not IT projects includes: system administration and operation, break/fix activities, customer/user support, resetting passwords, and technical support.  Requests for those activities should be made through our IT Help Desk System.

Once the Project Evaluation Request is submitted, the request is routed to UT leadership for approval and a high level discovery will be performed by IT to capture the business case and discuss options.  You will be kept apprised of each step in the process, and may be requested to particpate in discovery meetings.  We encourage you to invite us into the discussion regarding your technology needs as early as possible!
