Type of Work Student Will Perform Observe how an administrative body operates to enforce laws, learn to interpret statutes, perform legal research, draft legal documents, and interact with staff and members of the public while gaining experience in the field of law, policy, and perhaps more importantly, Civil Rights. Currently and more specifically, the Toledo and Columbus regional offices could use help. Cleveland regional office needs help following up on information from charging parties; drafting notification letters; and entering information into the system. All externs will have the opportunity to observe intake charges with our investigators, a mediation between two parties, a reconsideration hearing and/or attend our monthly Commission meeting.
