About our lab:
Our Research Group studies Protein Structure, Regulation and Function by understanding their dynamics at The University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences. New computational tools and algorithms are developed to analyze molecular dynamics simulation data and validate the findings by structural determination such as X-Ray Crystallography and Small Angle X-Ray Scattering. Research findings are validated by Biochemical Functional Assays, and Data Mining on publicly accessible Databases or Electronic Medical Records. The goal of our Research Lab is to identify and design better drugs to regulate protein function for disease intervention.
Students in our group have very diverse background. However, we can roughly be divided into two groups. One group is from the life science field and one group is from computer/data science field. Students from different fields interact with each other and get exposed to the culture of both wet and dry lab.
