Employee Customer Safety - Environmental, Health and Safety Training

Effectiveness and efficiency of operations 

A. Employees receive adequate and relevant training.

  1. Have environmental training requirements been developed in consultation with management, supervisors, employees, and external consultants?
  2. Has using external education specialists been considered to assist in the preparation of effective training materials?
  3. Is classroom training conducted with qualified and adequately prepared senior personnel or outside experts?
  4. Does training provide regular, hands-on review of all environmental procedures?
  5. Is feedback gathered regularly on past and future training wants and needs?
  6. Are problems within business processes analyzed for any deficiencies in the required knowledge and skills of employees?
  7. Are qualified people recruited who possess the requisite knowledge and skills?
  8. Are the knowledge and skill requirements of each job defined?

B. Personnel are aware of required regulatory requirements as they relate to current and future environmental issues.

  1. Has a process been designed to assure compliance with environmental regulations?
  2. Has a written code of environmental regulations been communicated to all employees to address current and future environmental issues?
  3. Are regulatory information and changes or developments monitored and communicated to employees in appropriate functions or departments?
