Serving the Needs of the Business Community

  • Demand for non-retail sales people is expected to grow by 1-7% (6% for technical sales) through 2033, (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2024)
    • Number of university sales programs has declined while the number of students taking professional sales classes has plateaued (Sales Education Foundation)
    • Number of 18 year olds to enter college is expected to crater (U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Dept of Education, 2023)
  • University-trained sales graduates ramp up 50% faster and are 30% less likely to turnover than their non-university trained counterparts (Sales Education Foundation)

  • Nearly 40% of a customer’s decision is based on the added value the salesperson brings to the relationship (Sales Education Foundation)
  • All sales professionals need initial and ongoing development - entry level, subject matter experts, career changers, experienced professionals, and leaders
  • The University of Toledo's Edward Schmidt School of Professional Sales (ESSPS) is a sales talent development and recruitment provider of choice for companies like 3M, Hilti, ThermaTru, Owens Corning, Schindler Elevator Corporation, Fastenal, International Paper, Airgas, and more.
