Important Seasonal Reminders for Winter
Flu seasons are unpredictable in a number of ways. Although epidemics of flu happen every year, the timing, severity, and length of the season varies from one year to another. Information on flu season can be found on the CDC website at http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/season/upcoming.htm
The "flu prep" web site can be found at http://www.utoledo.edu/fluprep to aid in communication.
Ebola Virus Disease (EVD)
The University of Toledo Medical Center is following the CDC's recommendations on the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). An all hazards approach, using the Incident Command System, has been established based on existing emergency preparedness plans and procedures for infectious disease agents. While EVD is a very different biological agent it can be controlled and managed through proper procedures and strict adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) set forth by the CDC.
