Honors in Legal and Paralegal Program   

courtroomThe “Honors in Legal & Paralegal Program” is for motivated and academically talented paralegal studies students who are interested in intellectual examination of the law.  Legal & Paralegal students with at least a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and junior status will qualify for acceptance into this Honors Program.

To be awarded the citation “Honors in Legal & Paralegal” an admitted student must: (1) Successfully complete 9 credit hours of LGL Honors courses, and (2) Maintain at least a cumulative GPA of 3.5 in the student’s entire program of study, and (3) Submit, before applying for graduation, to the Legal & Paralegal Studies Program Director a portfolio of the students’ Honors work for verification.  

Students should register for the Honors section of 3 courses from the following list, and consult with the instructors regarding the Honors requirements in those courses.

LGL 3010 Law of Business Associations
LGL 3050 Bankruptcy Practices & Cons. Apps.
LGL 3110 Personal Law I 
LGL 3120 Personal Law II
LGL 3330 Litigation
LGL 4030 Contract Law
LGL 4230 Health Care and the Law

The Honors in Legal & Paralegal Program is an opportunity for additional intellectual growth and discovery within the Legal & Paralegal Program.                                                                                                                                  

The Paralegal Studies Program is offered for paralegal education and provides course work and practical experiences designed to develop the knowledge and communication skills necessary for contribution to the legal profession. Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to the public except as permitted by law.
