Interprofessional Education (IPE) encompasses students from a variety of health care programs to learn with and from each other. Effective health care does not rely solely on one profession, its takes an interprofessional team. Interprofessional collaboration is of vital importance to improve clinical outcomes and reduce costs in health care.  The goal of the program is for students to gain an understanding and appreciation of the roles and scope of practice of different professions; the impact of “team” on patient care and quality improvement; and the importance of the IPEC Core Competencies.
