If you are, or are dependent upon, an active service member stationed and residing in Ohio...
OBR rules state, "A person on active duty status in the United States military service who is stationed and resides in Ohio and his or her dependents shall be considered residents of Ohio for these purposes."
Documentation required:
- A copy of current military orders verifying that the service member is stationed in Ohio
- If the student is the spouse of the Ohio resident service member, a copy of the marriage certificate
- If the student is a dependent upon the parent's or legal guardian's tax returns of the Ohio resident military person, a copy of the first and signature pages of their federal and Ohio income tax returns proving the student was claimed as a dependent in the most recent tax year
