How Students Meet the ASCEND Experiential Learning Requirement

Learn about the ASCEND requirements and explore experiential learning opportunities. 

Two Pathways to Choose:

Curricular Track

Choose a Course
Register for a course in your program of study that meets the ASCEND requirement.

Requirement Complete!
Once you successfully pass the course, the ASCEND experiential learning requirement will be marked complete on your transcript.

Co-Curricular Track

Choose an Experience
  • Select am experiential learning activity that aligns with your interests, goals and academic or career path. 
  • Work with a faculty/staff mentor or ASCEND staff if needed. 
  • Make a plan with your experiential learning supervisor and complete your proposal along with any required training or preparations. 
  • Confirm your proposal is approved.

Choose a Course
Register for a course in your program of study that meets the ASCEND requirement.

Engage, Reflect and Document
Actively participate in your experience. Track your activities and learning. Complete and submit required reflection and supporting materials.

Requirement Complete!
Once you successfully pass the course, the ASCEND experiential learning requirement will be marked complete on your transcript.
