Live Sports Staff Collage

Since 2015, the University of Toledo’s ESPN broadcasts have been built around the Department of Communication and Media’s COMM 3260 Live Sports Production class.

Students in this course work as production staff and serve as camera operators, audio technicians, graphics operators, video replay operators, and production assistants for events that include (but are not limited to) productions of Toledo men’s and women’s basketball, women’s softball, and men’s baseball games for the Toledo Athletic Department that are streamed live on the ESPN family of networks.

Scott Van Pelt will tell you that the Department of Communication and Media's Live Sports Production class is open to all majors! If you want to be a part of the production team, contact John Eidemiller (john.eidemiller@utoledo.edu) to sign up! Interested and want to know more? Visit the class's information webpage.
