Emily Dworczyk, an MBA student specializing in Finance and International Business at the University of Toledo, has been awarded one of three $1,000 scholarships at the Second Annual Doing Right Spotlight. Emily’s scholarship comes from 2023 Doing Right Spotlight honoree the Taylor Automotive Family. With an impressive GPA of 3.9 and a graduation date set for May 2024, Emily's academic achievements are only matched by her profound impact on community service and leadership.
Emily's initiative to establish a boys' volleyball program at Perrysburg Schools has significantly contributed to the sport's growth in the greater Toledo area. Recognizing the need for more extracurricular activities for boys, she navigated through challenges to set up a program that not only provided athletic opportunities but also instilled values of sportsmanship, leadership, and community service among the participants. Her efforts led to the creation of two full teams in the first season, with players achieving notable success and one even being offered a full-ride university scholarship.
Beyond the volleyball court, Emily's dedication to service is deeply rooted in her upbringing and faith, influenced by her parents' commitment to community involvement and her own desire to give back. Her volunteer work spans various initiatives, from leading a summer volleyball camp for younger students to rehabilitating houses for families in need. Emily's leadership roles, including serving as Orchestra Booster President and teaching youth scripture study classes, further demonstrate her commitment to fostering growth and development in her community.
As Emily prepares to enter the corporate world, her commitment to community service remains unwavering. She plans to continue advocating for boys' volleyball, supporting local schools, and engaging in volunteer work that makes a tangible difference in the lives of others. Her aspirations to build a compassionate and considerate community through both large-scale projects and small acts of service reflect her belief in the power of collective improvement and the positive impact of volunteerism.
Emily Dworczyk's recognition by the Taylor Automotive Family emphasizes her exceptional contributions to her community and her dedication to "Doing Right." Her story is a powerful reminder of how leadership, passion, and a commitment to service can create meaningful change and inspire others to contribute to making the world a better place.
