Jacob Michalski, on behalf of Designetics
Jacob Michalski is a finance major in the College of Business and Innovation. His journey, marked by his commitment to mentorship and community service, recently culminated in receiving one of three $1,000 scholarships at the Third Annual Doing Right Spotlight. Jacob received his scholarship from Designetics. This honor not only highlights his academic achievements but also his dedication to shaping the next generation through leadership and service.
Jacob is passionate about coaching and mentoring young athletes. Through his work with elementary and junior high school football teams, he emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. His goal is to instill life skills that extend beyond the field, helping students become responsible and hardworking individuals.
Beyond sports, Jacob is deeply involved in community service. He has volunteered at the Seagate Food Bank, participated in downtown cleanup efforts, and assisted elderly neighbors by mowing their lawns. His commitment to making a difference extends far beyond athletics, as he consistently seeks ways to give back to the Toledo community.
Jacob aspires to create a youth development program that goes beyond football, providing mentorship, life skills training, and academic support. His vision includes helping young athletes not only develop their talents in sports but also gain confidence and discipline in their academic and personal lives. Partnering with his girlfriend, a University of Toledo women’s basketball player, he hopes to establish a program that equips young athletes with the tools they need to succeed both on and off the field.
