On Campus Employment

How Do I Get a Job?

  • Job notices are available in the Career Services Office.
  • Ask classmates, professors, and friends if they know of any jobs available on campus.
  • Also, go to any office on campus and ask if they are hiring students (dining services, residence halls, library, etc.).
  • On campus employment includes Main Campus, Scott Park, and Health Science campuses.
  • Jobs which are listed as “work study” are only available to U.S. citizens.

What Do I Do After I Get a Job on Campus?

  • Complete an I-9 Application e-form on the iRocket Portal and let us know that you will need to apply for a Social Security Number within the application. You will be prompt to schedule an I-9 appointment after completing the e-form in which we will review your documents and give you further instructions.  Go to iRocket Portal.
  • The I-9 application will require you to upload an employment verification letter.  Provide your employer the link to the Employment Verification Letter Template.

Cannot Find On Campus Employment but need a Social Security Number?

  • Stop in to the OISSS and ask for a letter explaining you are not required and are not eligible for a Social Security Number. This letter can be used in place of a Social Security Number.
