Educator Quality Dashboard

The University of Toledo is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The College of Education is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). 

Programs seeking national CAEP accreditation are reviewed on five nationally recognized standards developed to ensure excellence. The COE renewed national CAEP accreditation for their initial teacher preparation programs and advanced programs in 2023 and will be up for review in 2030.

Measure 1: Completer Effectiveness and Impact on P-12 Learning and Development

Data on completer effectiveness and impact directly aligned with CAEP Component R4. This page provides data on: completer effectiveness (i.e., graduates of our program): 

  • Contribution to P-12 Student Learning Growth
  • Application of professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions in the P-12 classrooms

Measure 2: Satisfaction of Employers and Stakeholder Involvement

Assesses employer satisfaction with program completers' preparation and their ability to meet workforce demands.

Data on how stakeholders are involved in program design, evaluation or continuous improvement processes.

Measure 3: Candidate Competency at Program Completion

Ensures candidates meet licensing and certification requirements upon program completion. This includes pass rates on state licensure exams and performance assessments.

Measure 4: Ability of Completers to be Hired in Education Positions for which they have been Prepared

Tracks employment rates of program graduates in relevant education positions, ensuring they secure jobs in their field and contribute effectively to the workforce. This data is related to  employment in teaching positions for which they were prepared.

Approved Programs to be Included in 2030 CAEP Review

During the spring 2025 semester, the COE received state approved and program alignment with Ohio standards and requirements for new dual-licensure programs. Because they were state approved after the 2023 CAEP review, these programs are not yet CAEP approved. They will be included in the next review cycle in 2030. These programs include:
