Starfish
Research shows that students are more successful and more likely to graduate when engaged with their campus community composed of Instructors and Academic Advisors. Therefore, Starfish allows you the opportunity to easily identify your personal list of support services in order to help you overcome challenges and attain your goals. Throughout the semester, you may receive notifications to your Rockets e‐mail account based on your academic progress in a course. Learning Enhancement Center
UT’s Learning Center provides all students with accessible, professional academic support services to enhance support. The Learning Center is located in Carlson Library, B0200 (419-530-2176). Included is the Writing Center located in 0130 Carlson Library (419-530-2176, writingcenter@utoledo.edu).
eTutoring Services
The Ohio eTutoring Collaborative, in partnership with The University of Toledo, now provides online tutoring support for all UT students. eTutoring Services are offered in a wide array of subjects, including Writing, Math, Calculus, Statistics, Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy and Physiology.
eLibrary Services Portal
The eLibrary is a customized gateway to UT Libraries for all students, online or on campus. students. It was designed to help you locate the best online library resources.

Military Service Center

Basic Needs Statement
Any student who has difficulty affording groceries or accessing sufficient food to eat every day, or who lacks a safe and stable place to live, and believes this may affect their performance in the course, is urged to contact the Dean of Students for support (Student Union 2509, 419-530-8852, deanofstudents@utoledo.edu). Students are reminded that there exists the UT Student Food Pantry (419-530-2171, foodpantry@utoledo.edu). Furthermore, please contact me if you are uncomfortable reaching out to any campus agency. This will enable me to connect you with an array of resources available on campus.
Mental Health Services
The Counseling Center is The University's primary facility for personal counseling, psychotherapy, and psychological outreach and consultation services. The Counseling Center staff provide counseling (individual and group), mental health and wellness programming, and crisis intervention services to help students cope with the demands of college and to facilitate the development of life adjustment strategies. The Center is in the University Health Center and can be reached at 419-530-2426.
The UT Psychology Clinic (UTPC) is committed to providing affordable evidence-based services including psychotherapy, psychological and psychoeducational assessment, and counseling services to help students with issues including anxiety, depression, managing stress and emotions, school difficulties, relationship issues, parenting, anger, and coping with loss. UTPC can be reached at 419-530-2721.
Title IX/Sexual Misconduct
UT has a Sexual Misconduct Policy which states it is committed to educational and working environments that are free from sex discrimination (including sexual harassment and sexual assault) and retaliation due to sex discrimination. Title IX is a federal law that prohibit sex discrimination. If you believe you have been subjected to sexual discrimination or harassment by University faculty, staff, or students, or any other form of gender discrimination under Title IX, you may report or file a formal complaint with the Title IX Coordinator (1120 Snyder Memorial, 419-530-4191, titleix@utoledo.edu).
LGBTQA+ Support
UT believes in the success of LGBTQA+ students. The LGBTQA+ Advisory Board provides outreach, support, advocacy, and community building for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified, queer and asexual students, faculty and staff. The Office of Multicultural Student Success offers a variety of LGBTQA+ Initiatives, including mentorship, student organizations, scholarships, and activities around history and heritage month.
Anti-Bullying
Every University of Toledo student deserves to enjoy our school equally, and feel safe, secure and accepted. It is my goal to promote an inclusive, accepting environment in this course. Consequently, any form of bullying will not be tolerated. Bullying is defined as intentionally persistent, hostile behavior that is aimed at harming another individual. Bullying can take many forms including verbal (e.g., name-calling, insults), physical (e.g., pushing, shoving), and relational (e.g., eye rolling when a classmate enters the room, mimicking a classmate, ostracizing or attempting to get others to consistently ignore a classmate). Bullying can also be cyber in nature; specifically, repetitively rude text messages or comments on Twitter, Instagram, or other social media outlets. If you experience bullying, or are a witness to a bullying incident in this classroom or anywhere on campus, please feel free to approach me and I will take appropriate action. If you are uncomfortable reporting it to me, please visit The University of Toledo’s Anti-Bullying Task Force and complete The Anonymous Reporting Tool. The task force will address the issue, respect your privacy and arrive at the best solution possible.

Student Grievances
Every student has the right to appeal grades or appeal for redress of grievances incurred in the context of any course by following UT’s Academic Grievance Policy. You should make every effort to resolve disputes directly and informally with the professor. If afterward the dispute remains unresolved, you can move it to the formal appeal process by consulting the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education, Dr. Richard Welsch, GH 3000.
