Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships

We are proud to be The University FOR Toledo. Under the leadership of UToledo’s 19th President, Dr. James Holloway, the institution is recommitting its focus on serving the greater Toledo community. In his Inauguration Address, Dr. Holloway outlined three launchpads that will define UToledo’s next chapter:

Advantage Toledo: Ensure that all UToledo undergraduate students have a learning experience that bridges the classroom with the world of professional practice.

Innovate Toledo: Encourage interdisciplinary research inspired by the opportunities and challenges of our region, and support its economic growth.

Healthy Toledo: Enable improved health outcomes throughout the area.

UToledo is also working to establish a UToledo Extension to align existing efforts and provide a focus on external service and relationship building.

These initiatives will support UToledo’s leadership in community engagement as we attract students to the University, increase our impact as a research institution and support the well-being of our community.

Aligned with the UToledo’s designation in 2013 as an Innovation and Economic Prosperity University by the American Public Land Grant Universities (APLU), UToledo continues to measure, tell and enhance its economic and community development impact as it relates to talent, innovation and place.
