When competing, a runner may pace himself by striving to run with the race's leader. Running in sync, both runners may push him or herself beyond their own expectations simply because the other is there, just as is the success waiting at the finish line ahead.

Such is the case with Tim Stansfield and successful business partners of IET, Incorporated; as well as a charter flight business and now, a new venture… Road Warrior, a retail athletic supply store. While they aren't competing against one another; a mutual respect and exceptional professional combination make their race to success in sync as each of the two strive to push beyond their limit.

Tim Stansfield and his wife Carol had long agreed that when the time came to start a family Carol would stay home with their children. Tim also knew he always wanted to start his own engineering company. In 1989 Tim decided it was time to start his professional dream and he submitted his two weeks notice. The next week Carol shared the news with Tim that it was also time to start a family.

So, it was time to build both a family and a business… Starting out of his home, IET was founded on determination and a dream. Today the consulting firm has three offices; one in Toledo, North Carolina, and Grand Rapids; doing $6 million in business with more than 90 people employed.

Tim's success started with his education at UT. This 1981 Industrial Engineering graduate found his academic choice to be a perfect fit. Strong skills in math and science and the chance as a professional to work with people made the choice a natural. Tim also credits Ted Glenn and Milton Netter as providing special guidance and support.

In addition to finding the right profession, Tim's success is shaped by how he lives, works and plays. Be passionate about what you're doing because if it's worth doing…It's worth doing right. This gregarious leader, molded by his father and his father-in-law's honesty and work ethic, tackles challenges with tremendous enthusiasm.

Tim credits the success and continued growth of IET to three things: he's got a good product that's easy to sell; he's got a hardworking team; and he tries to keep things fun for everybody. Of his business partner and co-owner… he says that Ronda is probably the hardest worker he's ever known.

Tim and his wife Carol have three children: Mark, Luke and Ellen and together one of their favorite activities is family hockey! For more information on Tim Stansfield and the IET Corporation go to their web site at www.ieteng.com.
