Chelsea Griffis, Senior Lecturer, teaches and researches the history of the modern United States with a focus on U.S. women’s history and the history of conservatism. She teaches courses on the history of American women, immigration and ethnicity, and the history of the LGBTQ community. Her research has been featured in Frontiers: A Journal of Women’s Studies and Popular Culture Review. Dr. Griffis holds a Ph.D. in American history from The University of Toledo.
Dr. Griffis was awarded The University of Toledo’s Outstanding Teacher Award in 2021 for her excellence in the classroom. She is the Faculty Advisor for Phi Alpha Theta, the national honor society for historical studies. Additionally, Dr. Griffis coordinates the History Department’s internship program.
