Karen Miskell, D.M.A.

biography
Dr. Karen Miskell, music educator and conductor, holds degrees from the University of Southern California (DMA, 2018), Northern Arizona University (MM, 2013), and the University of Miami (BM, 2005). Dr. Miskell has served for the last nine years as professor and Department Chair of Music at Victor Valley College in Victorville, California. In between her BM and MM degrees, Dr. Miskell additionally taught secondary choral music in the public schools of Las Vegas, Nevada in the Clark County School District. While teaching in Southern California, Dr. Miskell served as President Elect for the Music Association of California Community Colleges in addition to being the 2-year college Representative on the CCDA board, and actively served as a choral clinician, adjudicator, accompanist, and educator throughout the western US. As a native of Ohio, she is thrilled to begin this new chapter at the University of Toledo!
