Parama Sarkar (Ph.D. Michigan State) is an Associate Professor at the University of Toledo and has research and teaching interests in Postcolonial and Global Anglophone literature and culture, the South Asian diaspora, 20th and 21st century British literature, and US ethnic literature. She is the author of the monograph Postcolonial Literatures (2016) and has published articles and book reviews in The Journal of Commonwealth and Postcolonial Studies, South Asian Review, South Asian Diaspora, and MELUS. Dr. Sarkar teaches a range of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses on Literature of the British Empire, World Literatures and Cultures, US Ethnic Literature, and single author courses on Salman Rushdie and Zadie Smith. She is currently working on her second book project on South Asian representation in contemporary British literature and culture.
