Herb Innovation Center
The Herb Innovation Center serves the faculty and students of the Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education in ways that will grow and strengthen the work of the college in collaboration with our partners in PK-12 education and our community and agency colleagues.
Guided by our core principles, the center engages in the following activities:
Providing Support for Inquiry:
Support for research projects focused on the understanding and promotion of best practices in education, with a particular focus on urban education, special education, social emotional learning, technology in education, and ambitious teacher education. Centering culturally responsive and whole-child approaches that meet the needs of a diverse set of learners, we embrace technological advances, including artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance the scope of innovative practices available to current and future educators.
Cultivating and Sustaining Partnerships with:
- Faculty and students of the Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education
- Local PK-12 Schools
- Community and governmental non-profit agencies
Developing Resources to Encourage People and Ideas Such as:
- Customized outreach to faculty, students, and our partners
