Graduate Programs in History
The University of Toledo offers both an M.A. (thesis and non-thesis tracks) and a Ph.D. in History. Our vibrant community of scholars and students are dedicated to both pursuing knowledge and training up leaders to become intellectuals who will make an impact on their future world.
Students pursue a range of research and professional opportunities in our collaborative and supportive program. They receive individualized attention and mentoring from enthusiastic faculty who are committed to their success. Fields of study include U.S., Latin American, African, European, Atlantic, and East Asian History and concentrations in Gender, African-American, and Disability History. Our graduates have secured rewarding careers in academia, business, the federal government, and in museums, libraries, and historical societies.
Funding packages are available for both master’s and doctoral students on a competitive basis that include a full-tuition waiver and annual stipend.
