Purpose

The Scholarly Pathway of Excellence in Data Science is a modular, sequenced, experiential training program focused on data science. Deliverables for each medical student include development of a research interest, identification and establishment of mentor(s), acquisition of data science tools, development of individual projects, and publication of first- and middle-author data science focused manuscripts. The data science pathway includes modular experiences that may be tailored to the educational needs of the medical student. Notably, this experience is agnostic to field of interest and no prior experience in data science is required.
