Student Learning Outcomes: M.S. Program
The CE M.S. program must demonstrate that their students attain these outcomes:
- Proficiency in one of the two specialties as outlined in the CE Graduate Handbook. This will be demonstrated by a survey of CE advisors/examiners and maintaining a B or above in all the course work.
- Ability to carry out high quality publishable research by the students who are enrolled in the thesis program. The students in the project program should be able to prepare a high quality project report. All of our M.S. graduates using a thesis option are encouraged to publish either in a journal or conference. The students in the course work only option should be the ability to demonstrate outcome in our course work (a).
- Ability to effectively document, present, and defend results of research. All of our graduate students are expected to present their work in a professional setting, outside the department.
