How long before I receive my key?

  • Keys will be ready for pick up within 48 hours after approval from Locksmith.
  • Once approved, you will receive an email with pick up instructions.

Can Someone Pick Up My Keys For Me?

No. Keys can only be picked up by the person who the keys are approved for.

How do I Return My Keys to UToledo?

  • Main Campus - Plant Ops building: M-F from 7:30am-5:00pm; drop box.
  • Health Science - Security Dispatch in Mulford Library Basement.

How to Submit a Key Request

  • Click the "Request a Key" link.
  • Log in with UTAD credentials.
  • Click blue "REQUESTS & ORDERS" link at top of page.
  • Click the blue "New Key Request".

Where Do I Pick Up My Keys?

  • Main Campus: Key Control Office located in Plant Operations Bldg., room 1430.
  • Health Science Campus: Security Dispatch located in basement of Mulford Library
  • Bring photo ID (required)

How do I Report A Lost Key?

  • Submit an online request.
  • Click the "Request a Key".
  • Log in with UTAD credentials.
  • Click blue "REQUESTS & ORDERS" link at top of page.
  • Click the blue "New Key Request"
  • In the "Reason" drop down box select Damaged, Lost, or Stolen

My Keys Are Not Working?

Please return to Key Control located at Plant Operations building on Main Campus, so we can sign them back in from who they are assigned to.

Who are the Approvers in the Department?

  • Your direct supervisor will be notified of your submitted request, then it will go to the below individuals for approval:
  • Deans
  • Department Heads
  • Director or Vice President

How Can I Be Added/Removed as a Key Approver?

  • Department Heads are automatically Key Approvers.
  • Department Assistant are automatically Key Approvers.

Can I Add a Proxy for Key Approval?

Leaving the University? What Do I Do With My Keys?

  • You and your supervisor should receive a list of keys assigned to you.
  • Locate the keys and return to Key Control within 7 days of your separation date.
  • If not returned, a fee will be assessed to the department.

Can I Transfer My Keys to My Replacement?

No, keys are assigned under your name and need to be returned by you in order to reassign them.

What are the Fines & Fees for Key Replacement, Feb. 2023?

  • Unclaimed Key $25
  • Re-issue of Lost Key $25
  • Unreturned Key $25
  • Re-Key $100 base cost*
  • Re-Core $200 base cost*
  • *Final cost dependent on labor & material costs and the number required.

Contractors: How Do I Request Keys?

  • Key Request forms need to be completed during initial phase of the project.
  • Fill out the information on the Contractor Request form.
  • UT Project Manager will coordinate access as well.

No, you will need to complete a maintenance work order.
