Application Requirements for Residency

Applications for the Anesthesiology residency program at UT are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). When the ERAS application season starts in September of 2012 we will be accepting applications for the 5 PGY1 positions that will be available to start in July 2013 and 1 CA-1/PGY 2 position for a start in July of 2014.  A complete application to our program requires:

• Successful candidates generally score 85 (2 digit)/207 (3 digit) or higher on both Steps 1 & 2 of USMLE’s, on first attempt
• Application within 5 years of medical school graduation
• Dean's Letter and two letters of reference *
• Valid ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
• Transcripts

* If you are an International Medical Graduate (IMG) and do not have a Dean's letter, we will need 3 letters of reference.

Note: The Department of Anesthesiology only sponsors the J-1 Visa
