Interactive Map of the Stranahan Arboretum
Welcome to our new interactive map of the Stranahan Arboretum!
James Marok, from Geography and Planning, constructed this interactive map of the Arboretum to aid in identifying trees in our inventory.
To use the map, click on the link below. Each individual dot represents one tree currently in our inventory. Clicking on the dot will bring up information about that particular tree.
If you are looking for a specific tree and would like to visit it's location, use
the search function at the lower left corner of the map. The icon with the question
mark, icon with the circle below, will bring up a window where you can type in the
name of the tree your looking for and highlight it on the map. You must use the full
common name in your search and search parameters are case sensitive so you also need
to use capitol letters for the first letter of each word. For example, Hedge Maple or Pin Oak will highlight the tree on the map in white
showing its location.
In addition, if you are familiar with using a GPS unit, you can locate a specific tree by entering the coordinates from the list provided HERE.
