Our Alumni

"The University of Toledo Counselor Education program has been a life-changing experience for me. This faculty has been incredible. They challenge me, encourage me to step out of my comfort zone and give me the space to grow as a counselor and as a counselor educator.”

- Rachel Jacoby

“UToledo’s counselor education program is a rigorous and acclaimed counselor training program, with access to collaborative faculty members, engagement with our local community and a commitment to diversity. I have been able to make personal and professional connections with some of the top counselors, educators and researchers in the field. The program meets graduate students where they are, using the talents and passions of each student, and fostering students through formal and informal mentorship experiences.”

- Clark Ausloos

"My experiences here at UToledo have taught me so much. My professors have been patient, encouraging and understanding. They celebrate our success and help us stay on track in the program. They have an open-door policy, always there to listen, guide and advise. The department fosters a sense of oneness and every single student looks out for each other. We are all in it together, like a big family.

The program offers a 360-degree view of counseling. There is scope for flexibility and the choice to concentrate in the area of one’s preference. Along with my course work, I get to teach, supervise, facilitate a T-group, do a bit of research work and intern at a community mental health agency."

      - Mousumi Mallik

"It's so refreshing to be surrounded by faculty and peers that share a collective goal of understanding and support. Each faculty member is approachable and works hard to meet your needs as a student. Classes challenge and inspire me to think, learn and take action in ways that I had not previously considered."

      - Kim Molnar
