UT Strategic Plan for Diversity reportWelcome to The University of Toledo Office for Diversity and Inclusion. The Office was established by President Sharon L. Gaber and is being led by Dr. Willie McKether to sustain and embrace a diverse, inclusive campus environment through fulfillment of the goals detailed in our Strategic Diversity Plan. This plan outlines critical strategies that promote and foster diversity and inclusion. Moreover, its goals help to ensure every member of the UToledo Community feels included, respected and free from discrimination based on race, national origin, religion, beliefs, age, socio-economic status, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability.

A fundamental tenet of supporting academic excellence is ensuring our UToledo campuses are places where diverse individuals, ideas and perspectives can openly flourish. Further, promoting diversity and continually raising cultural awareness helps us to prepare students to succeed not only in today’s global marketplace, but also in life! Therefore, the Office for Diversity and Inclusion: proactively advances inclusive recruitment and retention strategies, facilitates institutional diversity planning and education, and collaborates with others to help resolve any complaints of discrimination. Through these efforts, the Office plays a crucial role in strengthening UToledo’s academic, extracurricular and work environments so they reflect the rich diversity of our metropolitan region and the world beyond.

As you explore our website, you will find helpful resources that fulfill UT’s Strategic Diversity Plan. We look forward to adding many more diversity and inclusion tools for your use in the coming months, as well as supporting all members of UToledo campuses in ways that embrace the differences that make each of us unique.

How do we improve campus inclusiveness?
