First Steps as a New Rocket
Congrats on your admission to The University of Toledo!
It’s time to take your next steps to becoming a Rocket. Here’s what to do to prepare for your first semester at UToledo.
To Do Now
File your FAFSA
File your FAFSA by the priority application deadline of Feb. 2. This ensures you will receive your financial aid award as early as possible starting in March.
Activate your MyUT account
Your MyUT account is separate from your Admitted Student Portal. This will be your go-to place for registering for classes, paying your bills and accessing your UToledo email. If you are transferring in credits from another univeristy, this is where you will find your degree audit as well.
Instructions on how to set up your MyUT account can be found in your Admitted Student Portal.
Complete Orientation
New student orientation is required of all new students. Register for orientation through your Admitted Student Portal on the Orientation tab.
Meet with your academic advisor
Once you have completed orientation, you will want to schedule time to meet with your academic advisor. You will find contact infromation for advising within your Admitted Student Portal.
To Do Before Classes Begin
Start Checking your Rocket Email
You will reveive official Univeristy coorespondance to your UToledo email address. You'll want to start checking this regularly. You will activate your email when you set up your myUT account.
Review and Accept Financial Aid
After UToledo recieves and processes your FAFSA, you will find your financial aid information listed under "My Financial Aid" on the Student tab of your myUT account.
Order your Rocket ID card
This is done through your myUT account. Upload a favorite picture of yourself that clearly represents you and pick up your IF when you are on campus.
Puchase a Parking Permit
If you are going to be driving on campus, visit parkutoledo.com for information about parking.
Send final transcripts
If you are currently attending another college or univeristy, you will need to request your final transcripts be sent to UToledo at teh end of your current semester.
Also be sure to stay in touch with your admission counselor through the start of the semester, they are your go-to person at UToledo for any questions you might have. You can find their contact information listed in your Admitted Student Portal.
