Free tutoring available for physics courses.  

Testing Services
Collaborates with other offices to provide placement tests, make-up tests, professional licensures, certifications, skills assessments, educational advancement, and test proctoring for distance learning.

Writing Center
Supports writers across the disciplines, including all students, staff, faculty, and alumni. During a session, peer tutors, teaching assistants, and professional tutors engage in conversation with writers, focusing on ideas, organization, development, argument, synthesis, and writers’ concerns.

 

Placement Tests

Chemistry Placement
Chemistry placement tests are required for all new students in either (1) The College of Natural Science and Mathematics or (2) pursuing Chemistry as part of natural science requirement. The University of Toledo uses ALEKS Placement to provide an accurate measure of a students' current chemistry skill so they will be accurately placed in their chemistry course. ALEKS Chemistry is an adaptive, artificially-intelligent learning system that provides students with an individualized learning experience tailored to their unique strengths and weaknesses. Students may use ALEKS Chemistry to improve skills over the course of a semester to build upon their knowledge and place into the appropriate Chemistry class.

Math Placement
Math placement tests are required for all new students unless they have credit for math that appears on a college transcript. The University of Toledo uses ALEKS Placement to provide an accurate measure of students’ current mathematical skills so that they will be accurately placed in their mathematics courses. ALEKS placement is available Online (www.utoledo.edu/it/aleks/) and in the Testing Center (Memorial Field House 1980).
