Karen Roderick-Lingeman is a professor emerita of ceramics and art education at The University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio. She holds an M.F.A. from The University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND, in Ceramics and Textiles and a Bachelor of Education in Art from The University of Toledo. Karen graduated Cum Laude in her B.Ed. program.

Her artwork has been exhibited in regional, national, and international exhibitions.

Roderick-Lingeman's artwork is a gestural record of personal thoughts, memories, and experiences related to travel. These moments in time not only related to a specific environment and the atmospheric condition but are also related to the reason for being at that specific location, at that specific time, with that specific person. These fragmented impressions and stories that inspire the artwork, are as much a part of the artwork as the physical piece itself.
