Dr. FRANK CALZONETTI
Dr. Calzonetti is Professor of Geography and the Vice President of Government Relations
at the University of Toledo, an administrative position he has held since July 2011.
In this position he is responsible for overseeing the University’s official engagement
with elected officials at the federal, state and local level.
Dr. Calzonetti is the author of three books on energy facility siting and over 40
refereed journal articles in the areas of energy facility siting, industrial location
and regional development.
He also was the principal investigator and project manager of over $12 million in
research funding from the National Science Foundation, NASA, the Army Research Office,
Argonne National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the U.S. Department of
Energy, U.S. Department of Commerce, American Electric Power Service Corporation,
and the State of West Virginia.
Dr. Calzonetti holds a Ph.D. in geography from the University of Oklahoma, an M.A.
in geography from Wayne State University, and a B.A. in history from Wayne State University.
