A chance to keep up your skills and play great string orchestra music in early summer. Open to college, high school, and community string players. Rehearses Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7-8:30 p.m. in the UToledo Center for Performing Arts.
Cost: $25 - covers music. Visit our online store and enter the amount of your payment.

UT BAnds Drum Major Camp

The UToledo Band Program will continue its popular High School Drum Major camp in the summer of 2024. The camp is designed with a dedication to strong fundamentals, guiding students toward excellence in developing their own unique style compatible with their home programs. The result is growth in individual creativity, identity, and diversity. The program enables us to train strong teachers, conductors, leaders, and even capable assistant band directors. Coupling the power of positive attitudes and high energy with values-based leadership principles is an unmatched recipe for success.
The 4-day camp is intended for local high school students entering grades 9-12, with multiple sessions running 9am-4pm over a 4-day period.

Summer Choral Educator workshop
july 31, 2024
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Faculty:
Dr. Richard Schnipke - Bowling Green State University
Dr. Micah Bland - University of Toledo
In this workshop, held at the UToledo Center for Performing Arts, Dr. Micah Bland and Dr. Richard Schnipke will lead six 1-hr sessions on choral technique. Registration is required. The deadline for registration is July 26.
Session topics include:
- Developing choral tone
- Methods for improving student sight-reading skills
- Dalcroze in the choral rehearsal
- Conducting masterclass (4 conductors to be selected)
- Repertoire reading session
Cost (lunch and parking fees are not included)
-$50 teachers
-$25 for current college students
