2025 Music Camps and Workshops

UToledo Guitar Camp

The camp features multiple sessions covering the major aspects of guitar playing and performance including chords, scales, creative use of pedals, mindfulness and stress reduction for the performing guitarist, music theory, guitar history, listening lab, developing a practice routine, and even playing together in the guitar orchestra! The UToledo Guitar Camp is for guitarists of all levels/ages and will be held in the UToledo Center for Performing Arts (UToledo Main Campus).

Schedule:

  • 9:30-10 a.m. Arrive and Check-in.
  • 10-11 a.m. Morning Session with Jay Weik
  • 11-12:30 p.m. Break out Sessions with Megan Lesle Heer, Chad Schoen, and Jay Weik
  • 12:30-2 p.m. Lunch (Not included - group may visit eatery on or near to campus)
  • 2-3 p.m. Afternoon Break Out Sessions
  • 3-4 p.m. Closing Session with Jay Weik

Cost: $65 - Visit our online store to pay your workshop fee.

UToledo String Orchestra Workshop

A chance to keep up your skills and play great string orchestra music in early summer. Open to college, high school, and community string players. Rehearses Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7-8:30 p.m. in the UToledo Center for Performing Arts. 

Cost: $25 - covers music. Visit our online store and enter the amount of your payment.

UT Bands Drum Major Camp

June 16-19, 2025

The UToledo Band Program will continue its popular High School Drum Major camp in the summer of 2025.  The camp is designed with a dedication to strong fundamentals, guiding students toward excellence in developing their own unique style compatible with their home programs. The result is growth in individual creativity, identity and culture of respect. The program enables us to train strong teachers, conductors, leaders, and even capable assistant band directors. Coupling the power of positive attitudes and high energy with values-based leadership principles is an unmatched recipe for success.

The 4-day camp is intended for local high school students entering grades 9-12, with multiple sessions running 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. over a 4-day period.
