A Two-Week Filmmaking Summer Intensive

Visual Storytellers Summer Intensive at the University of Toledo is a two-week filmmaking summer camp for juniors and seniors high school students looking to grow their narrative video-making skills.
During these two weeks teens will conceptualize, write, light, shoot and edit films, with an emphasis on creating visually. They will grow creatively while experiencing college level seminars run by Assistant Lecturer Quincy Joyner of the UT Theatre and Film Department.
Workshop Objectives
Upon successful completion of Visual Storytellers Summer Intensive participants will be able to:
- Articulate the components of story, character and narrative, and the effectiveness of communicating visually
- Conceive, design and communicate a story cinematically employing practical filmmaking techniques
- Demonstrate production etiquette and communication necessary to collaboratively produce a film
Workshop Will Include
- Narrative storytelling
- Understanding the Frame
- The technical aspects of the Canon 5D
- Lenses
- Lighting
- Video editing
Cost
$350 - Due July 2, 2018
The fee covers all materials needed for the workshop. Fees are due by July 2, 2018. Seats in the workshop are limited and registration is not confirmed until the workshop is paid for! Seats not paid for by the due date will be given to waiting registrants. Lunch will be included each day of the workshop.
How to Register
This workshop is only for high school students who are juniors or seniors as of fall 2018 Students outside these grades will not be permitted. To register, fill out the online form available through the registration link below AND download and complete the Permission/Consent Form. This form is REQUIRED only for students under the age of 18. Payment can be made by credit card or check. Payment is due by July 2.
