Quincy Joyner, Assistant Lecturer
Quincy Joyner joined the UT Department of Theatre and Film in 2017. A writer-director
with a focus on narrative storytelling, his work includes shorts, feature length stories
and profile pieces on artists and connectors in Chicago. His production interests
include photo Roman and portrait photography, movement through dance and martial arts,
and the use of sound and music as character.
He has directed and produced work in Ireland, and worked in Chicago theater as a
multimedia designer for DreamLogic Theatreworks and stage manager for Right Brain
Project. At UT, Joyner teaches such courses as Directing Actors for the Camera, Acting
for the Camera and Introduction to Film. He holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine
Arts, with a focus on screenwriting and directing, and a BA from Columbia College
Chicago, in directing for theatre and film.
