Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC)

Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) is an approach that integrates writing into many courses outside the standard ones of English composition. The Colleges of Arts & and Letters, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and the Honors College are strongly committed to ensuring that their graduates can use writing to acquire new knowledge, and express their ideas in compelling writing. Many of the departments in these three colleges offer writing intensive courses, and undergraduates are required to take a minimum of two in order to graduate. The program is supervised by faculty from all three colleges. These pages are primarily for faculty who want to learn more, and who want to submit a course for approval as a WAC class.
