2024 Audition Information
Below you will find information regarding joing the Color Guard of the 2024 edition of the University of Toledo Rocket Marching Band! Please read all the information carefully, and make sure you complete the process in full.
Auditions for the 2024 Color Guard can be completed in-person, Saturday, May 11, 10:30am-5pm, at the Student Rec Center. Auditions can also be completed via video submission. Deadline for video submission is Saturday, June 15.

Video Auditions: Your training video will consist of three (3) portions: Movement, Flag, and Choreography. We will use these to determine if your experience level meets our needs for this season.
Movement Section:
- Marching Forward 8 Toe Lead Step and Backward 8
- 2 Chasse and 2 Saute across the floors in combination
- 2 Chaine Turn across the floors in combination
Flag Section:
- 16 Counts of Drop Spins
- Angle Drill - 16 counts in 2's followed by 16 counts in 1's
- Figure 8's - 16 counts in 2's
- Tosses - 4 Pop Tosses followed by 4 Parallel Tosses
Choreography Section:
- 32 Counts of choreography per the video.

Audition Submissions: To submit your training video to us, please record all of the above and (preferably) post as a single video to YouTube in an unlisted post. Then forward that link to us at UTColorguard@aol.com. Deadline for submission is June 15th.

General Information: This season we are looking to march 15-20 members in the guard and have an additional 2-3 alternates. The final number depends upon the caliber of applicants as determined by the staff. Candidates selected are members of the band and are subject to the same regulations and expectations as the other band members. UToledo Color Guard members must apply each year.
