Home Energy Assistance is an income-based program that provides assistance with energy needs. Apply at www.benefits.ohio.gov
Childcare Assistance is an income-based program that provides assistance with childcare. Apply at www.benefits.ohio.gov
Medicaid is an income-based program that provides free health insurance for low-income residents. Apply at www.benefits.ohio.gov
WIC (Women, Infants and Children Food Assistance) is an income-based program that provides food aid for pregnant women and their children through age 5. To apply, contact Lucas County at 419.213.4422 or Wood County at 419.354.9661.
Cribs for Kids
Cribs for Kids is a National Infant Safe Sleep Program house at the Toledo Lucas County Health Department. If you are 37 weeks pregnant or have an infant under 5 months, you can complete a 30 minute virtual class on the current Safe Sleep recommendations and receive an approved portable crib, sheet, wearable blanket, and other educational materials.
Local Diaper Banks

Adelante, The Latino Resource Center offers free baby items and classes, mental health support and referrals, and transportation to doctor appointments. Adelante is for all Toledoans. Contact via phone 419.244.8440
Wood County Job and Family Services offers free diapers, wipes, and hygiene kits for Wood county residents. They also offer free backpacks and school supplies, along with rent and utility assistance. Contact via phone 419.376.3161
Parenting Classes
Mercy Virtual Breastfeeding Support Group provides free breastfeeding, labor/delivery, newborn care/safety, and comfort/breathing virtual classes.
First week of the month: Monday 6:30-8pm Virtual Labor Part 1 & Wednesday 6:30-8pm Virtual Labor Part 2
