Scholarly Interests 

Dr. Noela A. Haughton is a professor of education with the Judith Herb College of Education at the University of Toledo. Her scholarly interests can be summarized as academic quality. Strands include research methods education, competency-based design and assessment, and international education. Hence, her individual and collaborative research has strong multidisciplinary and collaborative strands.

Dr. Haughton’s scholarly interests align with her teaching mission, which is using applied and collaborative approaches to design and implement learning experiences that produce effective users of Research Methods and Assessment content. This work draws upon and integrates several conceptual and theoretical frameworks including Systems Theory, Active Learning, Instructional Design, Competency-Based Design and Assessment, and Technology Integration.
