The Master’s programs in Early Childhood Education reflect the latest in theory, research, and practice to help teachers become more effective in the classroom. Faculty in Early Childhood Education are nationally-recognized scholars who work with graduate students on various projects, papers, and grants and are active in schools and agencies at the local, state, and national levels.

The M.Ed. program is for teachers holding a teaching license. If you are seeking licensure and hold an undergraduate degree, please apply for the Early Childhood Education Licensure and Masters Program (LAMP).

Doctoral Program

The Ph.D. is the rigorous preparation of educational researchers who have the knowledge and skills needed to design, conduct, and disseminate high-quality scholarship, and who have a strong foundation in one or more areas of specialization. Courses provide critical training in the intellectual pursuit of advanced knowledge.  A Ph.D. degree prepares the graduate for academic and administrative positions in educational institutions and social service agencies. The Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education is for students interested in focused study of teaching and learning environments specifically designed for children ages birth to grade 3.

Educational Specialist

The education specialist degree (Ed.S.) prepares instructional and administrative leaders to improve engagement, effectiveness, and the quality of learning in elementary and secondary schools. Requiring a minimum of 30 hours beyond the master’s degree.

The Ed.S. in curriculum and instruction is a highly-customizable program designed to meet the needs of professionals involved in curriculum, teaching, and supervision.
