Judith Herb College of Education

the Office of Field Experiences

Welcome to the Office of Field Experiences!

Our office coordinates the practicum (methods) and internship (student teaching) field experiences for teacher candidates in the Judith Herb College of Education's licensure programs. We work closely with PreK-12 educational institutions to facilitate these experiences, allowing you to complete the final phases of your academic and professional journey toward becoming a teacher.

These experiences offer you the opportunity to demonstrate and refine your pedagogical knowledge and skills in real classroom environments, transforming theory into practice and setting the foundation for ongoing professional development.

Throughout your practicum and student teaching experiences, you'll be mentored by experienced educators. They will collaborate with our office to evaluate your progress and provide guidance and support within the school environment.

Partner Schools and Mentor Teachers

Interested in shaping the future of education? Join the Judith Herb College of Education as a partner school or Mentor Teacher and play a pivotal role in guiding and inspiring the next generation of educators. Field experiences mark the culmination of our students' journey toward becoming teachers. This immersive phase is where theory meets practice, allowing future educators to apply their knowledge in real-world classrooms under the guidance of dedicated mentor teachers.

As a partner, you play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of educators. Your expertise, mentorship, and school environment become the classroom for our students' professional growth. Together, we can inspire and empower future teachers while also enriching school communities with fresh ideas and enthusiasm.
