Field Supervisors
Interested in offering your knowledge, skills, and expertise to guide the next generation of educators?
Field Supervisors play a critical role in all practicum and student teaching internship field experiences. They are experienced teachers employed by the JHCOE and are responsible for evaluating the Teacher Candidate's effectiveness of planning, instruction, assessment, and the classroom environment. They conduct all conferences with Teacher Candidates and Mentor Teacher, and serve as the liaison between placement school and the university. Field Supervisors are the primary point of contact for all parties within the field experience.
Many of our Field Supervisors are retired teachers who are eager to share their expertise and insights gained throughout their teaching careers. Some are educators that chose to temporarily step away from full-time teaching (e.g., parents with young children).
This role offers an opportunity to engage with teachers in school settings on a part-time basis, while making a meaningful impact on the next generation of educators.
